RHUH uses Hospital Management Information System HMIS integrated
package as well as PACS/RIS software.
|
|
| HMIS |
|
|
HMIS is an integrated hospital management system that supports
the entire hospital operations and all departments, medical and non-medical. It
is build by object-oriented tools with a graphical interface based on click
paradigm that is easy to use. The system is divided into front-office system
and back-office systems whereby each system has a set of integrated modules.
The front-office system modules include the main modules and the clinical
modules. Most of these modules have been implemented while a few are still not
implemented or in the process of implementation as will be indicated. The main
HMIS modules are:
-
Patient Master Index: Stores patient information including
Medical Record Number, Name, Birth Date, and Telephone Number and ID Number.
-
Admission Discharge and Transfer: manages the processes used
to admit, discharge, and transfer patients between departments and rooms.
-
Emergency Room Management: used to manage emergency room
processes and procedures. This module is not yet implemented since the
Emergency division in the hospital is not yet fully operational.
-
Outpatient and Appointment Management: manages outpatient
activities and appointment management to outpatient clinics and specialized
hospital clinics.
-
Order Management Processing: used to manage the process of
ordering material and equipment between departments and the hospital store and
pharmacy.
-
Pharmacy Management: manages pharmacy operations including
medications information storage and management.
-
Laboratory Management: manages the laboratory operations
including tests and schedules.
-
Laboratory Instruments Interface: this module allows the
interfacing between HMIS and laboratory machines and equipment.
-
Radiology Management: manages operations of the X-ray division
including patient information, tests, results, and resources management.
-
Radiology PACS Interface: allows the interfacing between HMIS
and medical equipment such as ultra sound imaging, CT scanners, X-ray, and
other radiology equipment.
-
Operation Theater Management: manages the processes in the
operations room. The implementation of this module is still in process.
-
Nursing Management: manages the nursing department operations
including scheduling, patient monitoring, patient assessment and diagnosis,
patient progress mode, patient diet mode, physicians allocation management,
interdepartmental ordering…
-
Blood Bank Management: manages the operations in the blood
bank division including reporting and result analysis.
-
Medical Records: stores permanent records for the patient
including his/her medical history.
-
Medical Record Management: manages patient records, medical
cases and activities including the assignment of tests and medications (online
prescriptions), patient diagnosis, and analysis of results.
-
House Keeping Management: manages housekeeping and janitorial
activities.
-
Morgue Management: features online posting of deaths and the
management of following procedures.
-
Sheet Design: used to capture and design information for
statistical analysis.
-
Report Generator: generates operational, functional, and
strategic reports that aid in decision making.
-
Report Viewer: allows the creation of user-defined reports
based on the need of the user through accessing information from other modules.
-
Inquiry Builder: used to build inquiries against the system
through a wizard or using SQL language

| Clinical Modules |
|
|
The clinical modules allow each medical department to access the
Medical patient record where the entire medical history of the patient can be
reviewed. Then the clinics and patient case can be thoroughly traced and
analyzed by each specialized medical division. RHUH uses the following clinical
modules which act as a direct point of access to the system: Allergy,
Cardiology, Chest, Dermatology, Endocrine, Gastroenterology, General
Practitioner, General Surgery, Hematology, Immunity, Metabolic, Neurology,
Obstetrics Gynecology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Pathology,
Pediatrics, Physical Therapy, Primary Care Clinics, and Urology
