The hematology-oncology day unit at RHUH is established to provide chemotherapy
treatment, physician review, and psychological care for patients in an
outpatient setting.
In addition to the administration of chemotherapy, the care of patients visiting
the unit includes multidisciplinary, comprehensive, and ongoing assessment of
disease processes and treatment effectiveness; ongoing assessment &
management of treatment side effects; supportive psychological care for the
patients and their families; and education about cancer, cancer treatment,
symptom management, and resources available to help during this difficult time.

| Organization |

| A. Operating hours
The CTU will operate on weekdays from 7am until 6pm. It is closed on weekends
and holidays. Patient admission will be limited to 7am to 12 noon.
C. Team
The team is composed of hematology-oncology doctors, psychologist, nurses,
dietitians, social workers, and physiotherapists:

The unit is located on the first basement floor (B1) and it has its own
entrance. For a start the CTU will operate with 5 beds to reach 11 beds.
